About this grant
DESNZ funding to improve the performance of existing district heating and communal heating networks in England and Wales that are operating sub-optimally. Offers revenue grants (up to 100% of eligible costs) for optimisation studies and capital grants (up to but not including 50% of eligible costs) for efficiency improvement works. Round 13 opened 17 August 2026; a mandatory Expression of Interest must be submitted by 25 September 2026 to gain access to the application portal, with full applications closing 9 October 2026. The overall scheme runs to 31 March 2030.
