About this grant
Grants helping UK museums and galleries buy works of art and objects of artistic interest, from antiquity to the present day, of national, international or significant regional importance. Small grants (£20,000 or less, where the work costs £1m or less) are considered on a rolling basis with decisions in about 6-8 weeks; main grants (above £20,000 and/or works over £1m) are decided at five trustee meetings a year (rounds in February, May, July, October and December); auction applications are fast-tracked. From December 2026 applications must be submitted as Word documents rather than via the Professional Dashboard.
