About this grant
The Mayor's Green Roots Fund (£12 million from 2025 to 2028) funds projects that improve London's green and blue infrastructure for public benefit. Implementation projects can create, improve or restore green space, waterways, wetlands or habitats, plant trees, rewild, reintroduce species or deliver climate adaptation such as flood prevention and urban cooling; enabling projects can fund community science and outreach, micro-grant schemes, feasibility studies, training, surveys and design. One third of the fund is reserved for the fixed theme of clean and healthy waterways. Round 4 (the winter 2026 round) closes on 14 January 2027, with decisions expected in spring 2027; projects must be completed within two years.
