About this grant

The North East Mayor's grant fund for grassroots charities and community groups supporting residents experiencing financial hardship, now a rolling programme after the Mayor committed a further £1.5 million on top of the first £1 million. Grants of up to £7,500 can be spent over 12 months on activity such as food provision, community transport, digital inclusion, repair and reuse schemes and improvements to community spaces. Decisions are made quarterly: the combined authority states the next round closes on Monday 9 November, and Community Foundation North East lists 16 November 2026 as the deadline for its December 2026 panel, with later deadlines in February, May, August and November 2027.
