Historic Environment Scotland

Historic Environment Grants Fund – Small (£25,001 to £100,000)

About this grant

The Small stream of Historic Environment Scotland's main grants fund supports projects connected to a Scottish historic environment asset, including repair and consolidation, archaeology, skills and training, outreach, interpretation and management plans. Every applicant must first have an expression of interest approved (EOIs are open all year and HES aims to respond within 10 working days) before being invited to apply. The 2026-27 application deadlines are 31 August and 31 December, so the next is 31 December 2026; submit the EOI by early December to leave time for approval. Applications are competitive and decisions take 10 to 12 weeks.
