About this grant
Helps non-national museums, galleries, record repositories and specialist libraries in England and Wales buy objects, collections and archives of any date relating to the arts, literature or history, such as archaeology, decorative and fine art, archives, rare books and social history objects. Grants cover up to 50% of a purchase price between £500 and £500,000, and no applicant is likely to receive more than £50,000 in a financial year. Applications for standard, treasure and private treaty purchases can be made at any time in the financial year, though funds can run short towards March; auction purchases need at least 10 days' notice.
