iX Challenge: Accelerating Digital Engineering Through MBSE Simulation

About this grant

Innovate UK Innovation Exchange (iX) challenge set by openSPDM, an open source simulation process and data management company. It wants developers to turn its prototype model-based systems engineering (MBSE) interface into an industrial tool that extracts system architecture from Capella, rolls up linked models and launches a 1D simulation whose results return to openSPDM. Applicants submit a solution through the Innovation Exchange by 5pm on 6 November 2026. Finalists are notified 13 to 17 November and pitch to openSPDM between 25 November and 3 December 2026, and the selected solution provider can apply for up to £60,000 of Innovate UK grant funding for a three-month project running from 1 March to 31 May 2027 (IFS submission by 22 December 2026). Successful applicants also get Innovate UK Business Connect and technical support.
