About this grant

Grants to help preserve and repair Devon's historic churches and chapels. Main grants of up to £5,000 support larger or more complex projects such as roofs, floors, churchyard walls, towers, masonry, rewiring, stained glass, accessible toilets and kitchens, and new heating. Small repair and emergency grants of up to £2,000 cover urgent or small necessary work, such as roof repairs, fallen trees, failed guttering or a broken window, and preliminary costs such as surveys and feasibility fees. Trustees meet quarterly; applications for the January 2027 meeting must be submitted by 27 November 2026, with further meetings on 26 April, 26 July and 18 October 2027.
