iX Challenge: Next-Generation Electronics for UK Bathymetric Sonar

About this grant

Innovate UK Innovation Exchange (iX) challenge from a UK marine technology company whose GeoSwath sonar systems, which give simultaneous bathymetry and side-scan data, rely on electronic components that are now obsolete. It wants a next-generation multi-channel acquisition and signal-processing platform that can be built from currently available components and progressed to an integrated prototype ready for acoustic testing. Submit a solution through the Innovation Exchange by 5pm on 6 November 2026. Shortlisted applicants pitch to the challenge holder between 25 November and 3 December 2026, and the selected applicant can apply through the Innovation Funding Service in December 2026 for up to £60,000 of grant funding (eligible costs only) for a project starting by 1 March 2027 and completing by 31 May 2027, working with GeoAcoustics. The package may also include support from Innovate UK Business Connect.
