The Portal Trust

The Portal Trust (formerly Sir John Cass's Foundation) – Grants for Organisations

About this grant

The Portal Trust, formerly Sir John Cass's Foundation, funds education projects for disadvantaged young people under 25 in 13 inner London boroughs and the City of London. Its priorities for organisations include prisoner education to reduce re-offending, truancy, exclusion and behaviour management, widening access to further and higher education, and new initiatives that improve education policy and practice for inner London students. Organisations start with an online eligibility quiz and an Initial Enquiry Form; shortlisted applicants are invited to a full application, considered by the Grants Committee usually in March, June and October. It can take up to six months from first stage to award.
